Throwback to 2017 when we were filming aerials of the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro for Sky Sports. As a drone pilot and aerial cinematographer light is everything and this was the last moment before the sun went down behind the mountains. Shooting directly into the sun is risky but and the ND filter makes the shadows even darker but I was happy with the final result, especially the sun’s reflections across the ridged roof of the stadium which act as leading lines from the viewer to the sun and the pitch inside the stadium eventhough it is on the dark side.
